    Story

As a much loved parent and coach, Dom was at the heart of the Scorchers with all three of his boys playing cricket for Sheen (and his lovely wife George). We will desperately miss his larger than life personality. Over the past year Dom has been a key supporter of an ongoing project to improve the facilities and community aspect of the club. It's with great honour that we have set up this page in Dom's memory, at George's request.

Sheen Scorchers has been an absolute lifeline for many children, adults and parents through the pandemic and for several years prior!

But the facilities are in great need of love, care and attention. From nets and equipment to toilets, outfield and lack of social areas (to shelter from the rain)! The pavilion desperately needs an upgrade from which so many people within the local community would benefit. In conjunction with the council, Friends of Sheen Common and other users of the clubhouse, we'd love to improve the facilities for all.

The kids learn invaluable skills and have great fun. But it just wouldn't be possible without the volunteering parents like Dom and George who give up their time to coach, umpire, score and support the colts. Dom will always be a presence in our club. His energy, banter, love of the family ethic, pure determination and real sense of fun will drive us forward as a community. With Dom's help we have already raised money for improvement to the nets. Some of which came from our prize giving dinner raffle in November, where Dom was our fabulous MC. He really believed in the club. So we continue the fight with him and his wonderful family at the forefront of our minds.
