    Story

Paul was a leading microbiologist has died after contracting coronavirus. .We were deeply saddened to hear of the death of our much-loved colleague, Dr Paul Matewele. Paul had been with the University for over 30 years and will be a huge loss to colleagues and all the students he has taught and inspired over the years. During our online memorials last week several people asked if they could make a donation in Paul's memory. So we have set up this page in Paul's memory.

For tributes we have received check this page https://www.londonmet.ac.uk/news/articles/paul-matewele/

We will pass on the funds to his son, William.- 18

Wow I am amazed at the beautiful tributes posted here for Paul and we have bust past out £500 target and are close to £2000. As this is doing well we will run it on for a while and when we pass £2000 we will make the first payment from the page to his son William. Thank you everyone who has given to date.

Dear Sheelagh, you and Dr Matewele were and still remain one of my favourite tutors from my studies over 11 years ago. I still emailed him in March of 2020. He will forever be missed and in our hearts

Dr.Matewele taught me and my crazy friends over 15 years ago. He was always polite, softly spoken and sometimes a very funny person. We will miss you Paul. You were one of a kind.
