Story
My son Harry Zambon sadly passed away earlier this year aged 25 having been diagnosed almost 4 years earlier with an aggressive form of brain cancer.
Harry studied at Jersey College for Girls and Victoria College in Jersey.
I would like to create a memorial garden at JCG in memory of Harry for existing and future students to have an outdoor quiet place to enjoy and have times of reflection.
Harry believed in understanding what was important in life. Harry would say he was very lucky because he had a strong and loving supportive family. He also recognised that others are not so fortunate. Throughout his life Harry thought that kindness and integrity were important to make a cohesive society and how each of us can make a difference to the lives of others.
We all have a responsibility to make a difference, not just today but always, in our circles of friends, careers and in wider society. To achieve this, Harry felt it was important to recognise that we all need to know and understand ourselves in order to help others.
Harry recognised that whilst life is extremely busy and filled with different priorities, it is so important to allow time for reflective thinking. Harry also felt that if life was balanced, then he could set achievable and realistic goals for himself.
Having a peaceful outdoor space on the College campus will allow students an appropriate and suitable place to take some time out for thinking and reflection away from the busy College environment.
Please help us raise funds to create a beautiful outdoor space for College students in Harry's memory.
Many thanks in advance for helping us create this outdoor space at the College in Harry's memory.
