Story

Our dearest friend and colleague, Rebecca, was shockingly and suddenly diagnosed with liver cancer and sadly within a week, went with the angels on the morning of Monday 3rd June.

It’s devastating and everyone who knew and loved her is finding this really hard to process.

This is a direct message for us all to donate to her boys.

She married the love of her life, Mikey, also our colleague, on Friday 31st May, she said she was the happiest she’s ever been. Baby Joshua is only 5 months old and he completed her world. He is blessed with her big smile and infectious laugh.

Bex was an Ealing Police Officer for over 10 years on response team C and a Licensed Search Officer, which was what she enjoyed most about the job. She was brilliant at her job and a credit to the met. She deserves the support from her friends and colleagues so she can watch over them, knowing her young family, are going to be ok.

Your generosity will be greatly appreciated.

Here, her husband Mikey tells his story, taken from his Facebook post on the day of Beccas passing....

On Thursday 23rd May 2019 Rebecca attended hospital as she was feeling unwell. At worst we thought Rebecca had a gallstone. Rebecca was a fit and healthy 32 year old woman. We stayed at hospital overnight and the following morning we were informed that Rebecca had numerous tumours on her liver and spine. At the time they were unsure where the primary source of the cancer had started.

On Tuesday 28th I proposed to Rebecca at home with a little help from our beautiful son, Joshua.

We then re-attended hospital where more checks were carried out in a hope to locate the primary source of cancer so that Rebecca could start treatment. During this time Rebecca’s liver became more and more unwell.

On Friday 31st May I married the girl of my dreams at St. Peter’s hospital with close friends and family present.

Rebecca and I did not have long together but we sure made the most of it! Not only was she my wife, the most amazing mother to our son, my bestfriend.....she was my soul mate.

Throughout this whole time Rebecca’s strength and courage has amazed everyone.

This morning Rebecca left us in her sleep to be with the angels. She passed peacefully with me and her parents by her side.

Rebecca’s spirit will live on through Joshua.
