I've raised £5000 to SGF Fundraiser

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT IN 2020 - PLEASE VISIT OUR 2021 PAGE here: Palace Paddle 2021 TO SUPPORT AND DONATE TO SGF
In 2011 Josephine Kulea founded Samburu Girls Foundation (SGF), Kenya. Since then SGF has rescued over 1,000 girls from child marriage, female genital mutilation (FGM) and beading (a practice where girls as young as 8 are sold for sex).
But in the wake of the COVID-19 crisis the Kenyan government ordered all 400 girls from SGF’s rescue and education centre back to their villages. Girls who had escaped thanks to the tireless efforts of SGF were returned to danger; exposed once again to the same threats to their life.
The SGF team will not give up on them. The fight to protect these girls continues through regular visits to deliver essential food and supply parcels, to check in and to advocate for their rights and safety. But they need your help.
Moses, one of the small team at SGF, travels far and wide to carry out these life saving visits, over a 500 mile area.
Providing this vital work is fraught with difficulty. Meanwhile, resources to help these vulnerable girls are dangerously scarce. We are raising money to help Moses and the SGF team. Just £25 can provide a life saving package of food and vital supplies.
Josephine Kulea founded SGF to give 'hope and a future' to Samburu girls. Years of hard and courageous work has gone into making that mission statement a reality. Your donation will help SGF to stand by these young women in this time of crisis and ensure that their hope remains alive.
Food and dignity packages will include, subject to availability: 5kgs of maize meal; 2kgs of rice; 2kgs of beans; 2 litres of cooking oil; 2kgs of sugar; 1kg of tea leaves --- Bar of soap; pack of sanitary towels; body oil; face mask
Working in the UK to raise funds for Samburu Girls Foundation are Melinda Edwards MBE, Rukshana Ali, Alice Sinclair and Ben Siegle
