My name is Quen. I'm a twenty-something transgender writer living in Manchester, UK. I've been making up stories since before I could form full sentences, and there's never been anything else I wanted to do with my life.

I applied for the Verse Kraken writing retreat in December, aiming for a scholarship that would allow me to attend without charge. Although I did not achieve the full scholarship, I have been offered a partial scholarship, allowing me to attend for half of the cost.

Recently, my complex mental health problems have forced me to reconsider whether I can finish my degree in English and Creative Writing. An opportunity such as this one would give me the chance to flex my creative muscles, and regain some of the confidence I have lost over the past few months.

The £600 would cover the costs of my transport and my room, allowing me to take up the partial scholarship I have been offered and use this incredible opportunity!

In return for donations, I will be writing commissions for donors.

£5+ - a 100-word story or six-line poem.

£10+ - a 300-word story or sonnet-length poem.

£20+ - a 500-word story or twenty-line poem.

£40+ - a 1000-word story or forty-line poem.

Should I make my goal, all donors will have exclusive access to a blog about my adventures in France. I will aim to finish all other commissions by the time I go to the retreat.
