Story

Sue Tugwell nee (Day), has worked tirelessly for the Ambulance Service of Surrey, and latterly South East Coast Ambulance Service for nearly a quarter of a century. Sue’s career has involved missing endless special occasions with her family and friends whilst selflessly serving the patients and communities.

Sue is married to Paul, also a Paramedic and has two young children, Sophie and Matthew aged 6 and 4. In July 2019 after a short period of feeling unwell, Sue underwent investigations for possible Cancer. In August 2019 Sue was diagnosed with Pancreatic cancer originating in the Bile Duct. Sue’s prognosis is poor, and whilst she is starting to fight it with every possible treatment the future is unknown.

Staff, family and friends that have known Sue through working for the NHS want to help make some memories before Sue commences treatment.

We are raising funds to enable Sue to have a trip to Euro-Disney and assist with alternative supportive therapies which cost £50 a session.

Our aim is to raise these funds quickly in case Sue does succumb to this horrendous illness, we will be hosting numerous events to do so and also encouraging donations through this platform. All donations, whatever size will help make this possible.

Thank you in advance on behalf of Sue and Paul, from The Staff, Leadership team and friends of Chertsey Ambulance Service Operating Unit.
