Our main aim is to get this wonderful breed recognised and we work tirelessly with many people involved to try and promote the breed. They are a gorgeous breed, as anyone can see, and there are less than 300 left in the world. There are less than 40 in the UK. Our aim is to get people talking about this breed and ensure their future in the UK and Scotland. So far we have taken Adara (the youngest) to shows where she has turned heads and won classes and had audience members asking lots of questions about the breed, we have also had a newspaper article published which was fantastic. We have 3.3k followers on our Facebook (Scottish Skyros Pony) abd 3.4k on our instagram (@Scottish_Skyros_Pony).

So, we need your help. Of course, we are not reliant on donations as we have some money put away. We do this completely from our own pockets. We are not a charity, yet. We are aiming to raise £1000 for hay, feed, emergency rugs and any suprise bills (vet, farrier, dentist) . All of this goes direct to our girls and anything left over will be put away safely for any emergencies.

Our long term goal is to establish a breeding programme and get the breed registered and recognised in the UK. Unfortunately, there are no eligible Skyrian males in the UK due to inbreeding, so a colt would need to be imported for fresh lines. This is long term, and we don’t expect that to happen for a long time.
