Story

In October 2020 Scott Nicolson was involved in a serious road traffic accident resulting in severe paralysis from the shoulders and down (C4 tetraplegia).

Scott has been accepted to take part in a clinical trial; ‘Spinal Stimulation in Chronic Complete Tetraplegia’. This trial will take place over 7 months where Scott will attend the Queen Elizabeth National Spinal Injuries Unit. As this trial is outpatient’s only, expenses will be required from Scott leaving Shetland until he returns. This will include payment for carers to travel with Scott and support him in his overnight accommodation. We also need to cover the cost of the accommodation, electricity and other bills, and Scott’s day to day living expenses.

This is an exciting opportunity for Scott. We appreciate any donations that can help us with these expenses. We hope to fundraise in the near future to give thanks to all involved in Scott’s care.
