    Story

SCOTIA is a new live audience show hosted by independent journalists Robert J Somynne and Michael Gray, alongside fantastic film-maker Phantom Power Films. We believe Scotland deserves a modern, relevant, substantive and quality news show. We’ve already begun our exciting work. Your support can make it happen.

SCOTIA is producing live news shows that brings you, the audience and public, directly into political debates and will promote the voices of those discontented with media as it stands. Fed up with shows dominated by and deferential to Westminster politicians? SCOTIA will showcase the diverse, confident, talent thriving in Scotland - those too often overlooked in the debate on Scotland’s future.

With quality hosts, professional filming, and the promotion of new voices, SCOTIA will inspire our audience and inform the people of Scotland on our own astronomical potential. Our first show, that you can watch above, is just the beginning.

Between them, Robert and Michael have a decade of experience writing for newspapers and publications with incisive, original work. Phantom Power’s films include the ‘Journey to Yes’ series and the well-received NATION series with Lesley Riddoch on Scotland’s successful neighbours.

We don’t have big corporate backers or the resources of the mainstream media, but that does not limit our ambition. Your support will guarantee our next three live shows in Kirkcaldy, Dundee and Edinburgh, and mean we can then grow SCOTIA to reach larger audiences in the year ahead. Our carefully planned budget is limited to camera team costs, event costs and venue hire, website design, and staff fees. This crowdfunder covers them all. As a thank you for support, generous donors receive a ticket to our future supporters’ party.

And 'Scotia' very much appreciates the financial support from the Scottish Independence Foundation for our first show. Thanks! http://www.sif.scot
