Story
Life Leisure is Stockport's number one fitness provider and is the trading name of Stockport Sports Trust, a not for profit registered charity.
So many businesses and charities have been affected during the Corona Virus lockdown. Life Leisure had to shut their doors in March and, as of 3rd August, only two of their centres are currently open for members of the public.
During lockdown Life Leisure continued to provide support for our community by providing fitness videos on YouTube. They launched a ten day fitness challenge to raise money for Cancer Research UK and another to assist isolated individuals hit hardest by the Corona Virus lockdown.
Life Leisure is socially inclusive and offers sport and fitness from the ages of 3 months (Baby Splash) all the way up to those Stockport residents pushing 90 or 100. With 12 centres throughout Stockport there is a centre within easy reach wherever you live.
Life Leisure is also an award winning employer (UKActive's employer of the year 2017) and provides jobs and training opportunities for so many people from different educational backgrounds. Life Leisure was named "one to watch" in the Sunday Times 100 Best Companies to Work For in 2020 which illustrates their commitment to employment.
We are all now aware of how important being active is at keeping us healthy and Life Leisure is at the heart of this within Stockport. I am passionate about sport, about health and about the provision of sporting opportunities for everyone in our community which is why I am fundraising for Life Leisure and the Stockport community.
