"Thank you from the bottom of my heart for reaching out to us and for supporting our communities" Victor Cabela Sithole.
We are collaborating with Launceston World Music Group and Victor Cabela, a multi-instrumental teacher of indigenous African music and community worker, to support rural communities he works with in Natal province, South Africa.
Our next event will be Victor's live-stream concert taking place in Natal on Saturday 16th Sept 2023. He has assembled an awesome line-up of top South African artists for this concert - please see this poster for details.
We invite you to attend this via a Zoom link we will post here on the day. We are suggesting a donation of £9 to attend - but this is up to you :).

Victor is a renowned community music leader who recently lead a Zoom session for the Launceston group, run by our colleague in the St Stephens area of Launceston, Cornwall, who has strong family ties with Natal province.
During the session, participants learned about Zulu music and culture and were able to participate in some live singing and dancing activities lead direct from Natal province!
We followed this wonderful experience with with a whole series of activities during our regular meetings, followed by more Zoom link-ups on 5th May and 26th June.
Here's a film showing some of the Launceston group's creative fun and games ;)
Since early in the project the Launceston group have wanted to contribute to Victor's support to the isiPethu Semfundo Primary School, near the Drakensberg Mountains. (One thing we learned is that the Zulu word isiPethu means 'fountain' or 'spring'. The school is named this because education is perceived to be a fountain for knowledge and as such, is highly valued.)
The first donations to our campaign bought pairs of school shoes for around 30 girls and boys attending this school. This has made an enormous difference as families attempt to cope with high unemployment rates and mounting prices for daily commodities.
All money raised by this on-going Justgiving appeal will go direct our partners in the Natal communities - Global Jamming contributes to this project on a purely unpaid basis.
As always, we're finding that music is a universal connecting force through which we can see past our differences towards mutual appreciation, respect and understanding.
Thanks for being part of this!
