I've raised £5000 to the Robin Memorial Fund and the DPJ Foundation

South Caernarfon Creameries (SCC) employees, family and friends have challenged themselves to walk to the summit of Snowdon - Wales' highest mountain on Saturday October 1st to raise monies towards local charities Robin Memorial Trust and the DPJ Foundation.
SCC will match fund the monies raised to these deserving charities (up to £5,000).
Robin was a young man of 20 years old embarking on an adventure-15 months travelling to tennis tournaments all over the world working for Hawk-Eye. Tragically, two months into his adventure, in September 2015 it came to an abrupt end when Robin had a fatal accident in a newly built stadium in Wuhan, China. The family wanted to establish something special in his memory - something that would reflect the zest Robin had for life and his unparalleled interest in sports and people. In the end it was decided to establish a charity to provide financial support to young persons from North West Wales who excel in any aspect of sports. Grants of between £200 and £2000 are provided to these individuals to help them fulfil their sporting talents. Robin was the son of Gareth Evans, a previous Chief Executive of SCC.

The DPJ Foundation was set up in July 2016 following the death of Daniel Picton-Jones. The DPJ Foundation aims to support those in the agricultural sector suffering from poor mental health. Daniel's mental health problems went undiagnosed and unseen by many. Daniel was an agricultural contractor; he was part of a sector with the highest suicide rate. His widow Emma decided to set up the foundation to support the mental health of those in the farming sector who feel just as Daniel did, providing them with the support that he didn't know how to get.

Sefydlwyd DPJ yng Ngorffennaf 2016 ar ôl marwolaeth Daniel Picton-Jones. Amcan sefydliad DPJ yw cefnogi’r rhai yn y sector amaeth sy’n goddef o iechyd meddwl bregus. Ni sylwodd nifer ar broblemau iechyd meddwl Daniel a ni chafodd ddiagnosis. Roedd Daniel yn gontractwr amaethyddol; roedd yn rhan o sector gyda’r raddfa hunanladdiad uchaf. Penderfynodd ei weddw, Emma sefydlu’r corff i gefnogi iechyd meddwl y pobl yn y sector ffermio sy’n teimlo fel wnaeth Daniel, i roi cymorth na wyddai ef sut i’w gael.
