I'm raising £1000000 to help Mentivity "Reclaim the Block", providing youth services and mentoring at Mentivity House for young people on the Aylesbury Estate.

Imagine a place where young people and the wider community can feel truly at home—safe, mentored, heard, and empowered. That's what we're striving to create with Mentivity House, and we need your help to bring this vision to life.
Over the past decade, Southwark has seen a devastating loss of community spaces—youth clubs, centre’s, and safe havens where people could gather, learn, and grow. Thousands of young people and adults now have nowhere to go, nowhere to connect, and nowhere to call their own.
But we're here to change that.
Mentivity was founded in January 2016 with a mission to mentor and support young people from all backgrounds, along with their families. Since then, we’ve been searching for a permanent home to provide comprehensive services—intensive mentoring, youth club activities, and holistic community support. And now, we’re thrilled to announce that we finally have our own building, Mentivity House!
Securing our new home is just the beginning. We need your help to run this facility and deliver our programs to the community. Watch our video below to hear firsthand from some of the mentees we’ve worked with over the years and see the impact of our efforts.
Fourteen years of austerity have underscored the need for strong community support. Despite the challenges, we’ve been dedicated to providing assistance and have big plans for the future, including:
• A Brand New Community Space For All
• A New Weekly Mentivity Youth Club
• A Bi Weekly Food Bank to Support Families Battling Food Poverty
• Mentivity Respite – A New Alternative Education Provision for Southwark
• A New Spotify Themed Podcast Studio
• Tech Accelerator Hub Powered by Avanade
• Physical Activity Sessions, Yoga, Fitness Classes, and More...
1. Ensure Access and Spaces for All Young People: Local authorities have cut spending on youth services by £1 billion since 2010, a 73% reduction. We aim to provide every young person with access to quality youth services and safe spaces like Mentivity House, where they can gather, learn, and grow. We advocate for transforming public and private spaces into youth centers designed with young people’s needs in mind.
2. Empower Local Councils: Local councils are the backbone of youth services. We push for new legislation to equip them with the resources and leadership needed to provide world-class youth services, rebuilding and strengthening youth work programs that have suffered from years of underfunding.
3. Strengthen the Youth Services Workforce: The future of youth work relies on a strong, skilled workforce. We invest in training and development to prepare youth workers for the diverse needs of young people. This includes creating opportunities for new youth workers and addressing the current shortage of qualified professionals.
4. Address Funding Challenges: Funding is essential for the sustainability of youth work. For every £1 invested, taxpayers see a return of £3.20 to £6.40. Youth work saves £500 million annually by reducing knife crime, anti-social behavior, and other criminal justice expenses. We urge the government to restore and increase funding for local authorities, specifically for youth services, to meet the growing needs of young people and ensure youth work can continue to flourish.
By reclaiming and revitalising these spaces, we aim to support our youth and create a brighter future for all.
We’re launching a major fundraising campaign:
With this million, we’ll expand our youth services and youth spaces, guided by the voices and needs of young people for the next THREE YEARS in and around the Aylesbury Estate
