Story
Save Marlow’s Greenbelt (SMG) is a growing number of local passionate residents from Little Marlow, Marlow and Bourne End. We believe the building of a film studio in Marlow will be detrimental to the community. It will remove an area that is of astounding beauty and biodiversity and an important area of protection for you and your family against growing environmental risks.
We are privileged to have one of only 14 greenbelt sites in the UK. They protect you and your family from urban sprawl by encouraging urban regeneration and preventing the loss of your green spaces to exercise, play and be together. Take a look at www.savemarlowsgreenbelt.org and see what this area has to offer, this is your greenbelt and a 15 minute walk from Marlow and Bourne End high streets.
Funds raised will be used for planning consultants, and other experts, as well as marketing/awareness materials. Your help is vital to help us protect our greenbelt.
We are currently in the process of registering with the Charity Commission and HMRC for gift aid. In the meantime if you would like to email your details and confirm the amount of your donation to treasurer@savemarlowsgreenbelt.org we will send you a gift aid form once we are registered.

Save Marlow's Greenbelt
6 months agoThank you for your generous donations to date. We are now at a critical point in the campaign. A decision on the MFS planning application is imminent and we need to be ready if that does not go our way. This will require paying for further experts as well as legal advice and representation. The developers are well funded and invested in this process, so even if the application is turned down it is unlikely to be the end of the matter. So, if you can spare some cash, it will be greatly appreciated and wisely spent to protect our Greenbelt.

Save Marlow's Greenbelt
1 year agoThanks to all who attended our first AGM yesterday. The attendees will have heard about the level of funding that will be required if the MFS planning application goes to a public enquiry. We estimate that at least £40K to £50K will be needed in addition to the funds raised to date. Therefore, despite the ever-increasing cost of living, if you can find some spare cash and would like to invest that in protecting our greenbelt, please could you make a further donation. Our JG target is now £50,000. We thank you for your continued support.

Save Marlow's Greenbelt
2 years agoWe are grateful for the level of support we have received so far & for all our kind & generous donors. But we need your continued support please. The application for the huge 90 acre industrial development threat is live. We need to continue raising awareness with our campaign, whilst employing the services of professionals to prevent this application being approved. Our target is now £10,000. Please do donate if you are able to do so. You can also sign up to receive our updates via our website - https://savemarlowsgreenbelt.org/

The concept of development needs to shift gears to development for nature recovery instead of perpetual growth. We are all nature.

Green spaces are crucial in mitigating the effects of climate breakdown and biodiversity loss. I have a history working in film, but do not believe these studios are necessary for the film industry
