Story
I am doing a sponsored one day bike ride to see how many miles I can do in one day to raise money for this special place.
Holton Pits is 20 acres of mixed woodland, scrub, lakes, cliff and open space. Its a County Wildlife Site and the cliff is a SSSI . Cemex put it on rightmove without warning last year after the local community had been enjoying it for decades. There is lots of information on our website. holtonpits.uk
We have formed a Community Interest Company and are working hard to raise the money to make a reasonable bid before our asset of community value runs out in May.
This is my small contribution.

10 months agoTomorrow , Friday February 16th at Holton Village Hall we are celebrating having secured Holton Pits for the community. Please come if you can. 6.30.. bring and share food and drink. 1 year agoWe were going to have a celebration bring and share picnic at Holton Pits tomorrow but we’ve postponed it due to awful weather forecast. Sad but I’m glad as I forgot to announce it on here. 1 year agoYesterday we completed on the sale of Holton Pits, a huge challenge to raise half the money… and we then got match funding from the Community Fund. Please become a Friend of Holton Pits to get continuing updates. There’s lots to do and you will get an invite to a celebration which we will announce in a few days. And I’d love you all to come. Also we would love to know your ideas and an skills you might want to offer. Thank you all so much.
