Story
Thanks to the incredibly generous support of the local community we have raised over £5,000 and reached our initial target :) This is an amazing show of support in such a short time. This funding allowed us to employ a senior barrister to advise us on our legal case and write to Cardiff Council on our behalf.
We are, however, continuing to fundraise to allow us to progress with the second phase of our legal campaign. Our barrister has informed us that we do have grounds to seek a judicial review. Money raised will be used to pay a senior barrister to lodge papers for the judicial review as we fight to protect Hailey Park from development - see below for details...

Hailey Park is a crucial green space, much loved by the local community, and also a designated Site of Interest for Nature Conservation with Green Flag status.
It is a haven for wildlife, helps to protect us from flooding, and supports the health and well-being of scores of people, locally and beyond, who use the park daily.
Over 7,000 houses are being built across the river, in the controversial Plasdwr development in Radyr - and now the developers, Redrow, are backtracking and saying there is no capacity on that side of the river to deal with Plasdwr's sewage.
On 8th September, Cardiff Council granted planning permission for sewage to be pumped from Plasdwr to Llandaff North, and for a sewage pumping station to be built on Hailey Park... all without demanding a drainage and sewerage strategy be in place.
As a result, part of our beautiful Hailey Park will be destroyed forever, and will be put at risk of future developments.
We also think that this option is not the best for Cardiff, and that Welsh Water should invest in better infrastructure on the Plasdwr side of the river: pumping it to Hailey Park is the cheapest option and is all about maximising profits for the developer.
Fundraising for Legal Advice.
It is our view that there have been flaws in the planning processes: therefore Llandaff North Residents Association is now raising funds to support a legal challenge, to fight this decision and protect our park for the community, for nature and for future generations.
If people give what they can we will do our very best to fight this unjust development on our park!
Remember, Welsh Water have already said the new pumping station will need upgrading in 15 years. This is just the start of development on our park, and why we must fight this off now!
Together we are stronger - please help us fight this on your behalf!
Thank you so much for your time and support.
