Iʼve raised £1,825 to help save Bruno the dog

    Story

Bruno came to the vets last week with a suspected broken leg. This was confirmed with X-ray. The leg can be fixed but the owners do not have the money to fund this.. They were considering amputation as a cheaper alternative but this also proved too costly so they asked us to put him to sleep. This seemed a terrible shame as the fracture is repairable and Bruno is the sweetest little dog. So we asked the owners to sign him over to us so we could look after him in the short term and see if we could raise the funds to fix his leg before rehoming him. We hope we can save Bruno and his leg.

We are really pleased to tell you that Bruno has found his forever home! Jim and Sharon have kindly agreed to add Bruno to their family - he met their dog, Sally, and they got along fantastically well. We would like to thank everyone for their support of Bruno and we wish him a happy life in his new home. Here he is happy in his new home :)

We have had a couple of cash donations at the practice so we have now virtually covered the cost of the operation. I'd like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported Bruno. I have not used crowdfunding before and I am amazed at all the support and love out there. You are all Bruno's heroes, so Thank You on his behalf. Here is an x-ray after his op.

Bruno had his surgery on Monday. It wasn't completely without complications as there was another fracture line that didn't show up on the X-ray, but the final result was good and we expect him to regain full use of his leg. Bruno recovered well and is back recuperating with Rachel, one of my team who is acting as his foster Mum.
