I am doing a skydive (yes, I know!), to raise money for my fantastic school and two other causes very close to my heart. Please support me if you are able - I am hoping to raise £1500. (So £500 for each). I'm extremely grateful for all your donations, both big and small - please don't feel you have to give a specific minimum amount.

I would like to raise money to fund more resources to help our wonderful children with Special Educational needs at my school (St Bon's Primary School). Repeated annual cuts in Government funding has meant that there is an ever-decreasing amount in the school budget to give these brilliant kids the learning support they need and deserve.

I am also planning to donate two thirds of what I raise to two other local charities, which both mean a great deal to me:

A Bristol based Autism charity - this is a cause that is very close to my heart. My nephew is autistic and I have seen first hand how cuts in funding for kids with special needs have affected their quality of life. I have also had the privilege of teaching a number of autistic children over the years and have been touched by their amazingness. They have each brought their own unique gifts to my classroom. I remember them all with fondness and admiration.

BOSH - Bristol Outreach Services for the Homeless - does an amazing job of helping those who don't have a home. They provide a daily outreach service to the rough sleepers and vulnerably housed in our city, giving food and basic necessities alongside vital support and advocacy. They could do with a few of your coffers if you can spare them.

The skydive will take place on June 5th and I am doing it with four of my brilliant colleagues. We will be jumping from 15 000 feet and freefalling for about a minute! It excites and terrifies me in equal measure, but I know it will be something that I will never forget. I promise to post some pics (and maybe a video if I'm not swearing too much), for your entertainment!
