On the 31st of October 2023 I was diagnosed with a rare Cancer - a type of Soft Tissue Sarcoma. Whilst on Honeymoon in September (with my incredible wife Rachel), I'd noticed a lump on my knee had begun to grow quickly and become painful. What I had thought would be a harmless trip to the GP quickly turned into a life changing diagnosis and by November I was already into my first cycle of chemotherapy under the care of the amazing Sarcoma team at UCLH.

Transcend Sarcoma was established by myself and a fantastic group of close friends to raise funds and awareness for a rare sub-type of Soft Tissue Sarcoma, specifically those that are caused by chromosomal translocation mutations. At present there is no effective treatment for translocation related Sarcomas and my own care is focused on extension of life and controlling the spread of this aggressive cancer.

The mission of Transcend is to spearhead multi-dimensional fundraising events in 2024. All funds raised will be allocated to research projects to understand how translocation mutations develop in order to provide better outcomes for people impacted by this aggressive cancer in the future. I am fortunate I am being treated by some of the world-leading experts in Sarcomas at UCLH and Transcend will be working directly with the pathology and oncology specialists in the department to ensure all funds raised will have the maximum possible impact.

Via Transcend there will be a series of events throughout 2024 that absolutely everyone is welcome to join - gigs, supper clubs and an array of fitness related events.
