Iʼve raised £5,585 to Help support Sarah Stokes recovery from her horrific injuries sustained from being kicked directly in the face by her horse

Funded on Friday, 16th September 2016

    Story

Sarah is 26 and well known and loved by everyone in the equestrian fraternity in the South West. She has recently recovered from an injury where she broke both hips and her pelvis, but Sarah being Sarah bounced back with her smile and determination to get back on and get on with it. On Sunday the 7th August at a One Day Event at Chiverton (where she finished second!!), Sarah dismounted at the finish of the Cross Country, and her horse, Archie, being led by someone else, became agitated by the loudspeakers causing him to fly buck resulting in him kicking her accidently directly in the face whilst wearing studs, shattering over 30 bones in her face, and dislodging over 90% of her teeth.
Sarah has already received two operations, the second one taking over 12 hours and sadly this is not the end of it, with possibly 2 more years of predicted surgery to come.
The money that we are hoping to raise will help Sarah and her mother Kay, with financial costs of being off work, bills, rent and hopefully after the trauma and stress of hospital time and operations a well deserved holiday to finally put it all behind them.
Those of you who know Sarah know that if this happened to any one else she would be the first to dip her hand in her pocket to help out a friend in need, a dedicated equestrian whos love for the sport has sadly been paused by a life changing accident. This could of happened to any one of us, so please help out a friend who needs our support and please give generously.

Hi ,Just to let you know that Sarah's page is closing tomorrow-the response has been truly amazing and from the bottom of my heart I want to thank you all.Sarah hasn't completely decided how to spend your kind donations but the majority of it will simply be used to keep her afloat; but I'm sure we are all hoping she'll reserve some for a well deserved holiday for herself and her mother Kay. 😃👍👍👍👍🙌✈️🎉🍸🍹🍷here's looking to the future up and onwards. All my love Sally xxxxxxx
