Story
I am reaching out today to share my brother's incredible story of survival and the challenges he continues to face in his long journey to recovery. My brother was struck with a life-threatening illness in August last year that turned our world upside down. After a 170-day battle in the hospital, including a coma, organ failure, and multiple surgeries, he is alive today—but his recovery is far from over.
In August 2024 my brother was admitted to the hospital with a high fever and what seemed like a simple infection. But it turned out to be necrotizing fasciitis, also known as flesh-eating disease, and sepsis. The doctors warned us that if he had waited even a few hours longer to get treatment, we would have lost him. He fought for his life, went through emergency surgery, and spent over three weeks in a coma. The sepsis ravaged his organs and left him unable to move his arms, legs, or feet.
Over the next several months, my brother began to slowly recover, but the damage to his muscles and nerves was extensive. With the help of an amazing medical team, he has regained some functionality in his arms and legs, but his feet remain non-functional, and he is unable to walk properly without significant assistance.
After months of struggle and countless hours of physical therapy, my brother was finally allowed to come home this week.
However, his journey is not over. To continue his recovery and maintain some quality of life, he needs special mobility aids—namely, a wheelchair and a mobility scooter. These tools will help him regain independence and continue to work on his physical therapy from home.
We are asking for your help to raise £5,000 to fund these mobility aids. This will allow my brother to get a wheelchair and scooter that will help him regain his strength and independence as he continues his journey to recovery. Every donation, no matter how small, will make a huge difference in his life.
My brother has been through hell and back. He has already defied the odds, but we want to give him the tools he needs to keep fighting and rebuild his life. We are so grateful for his strength, the love of his family, and his determination to move forward. He truly is a fighter.
Thank you so much for your support. We are incredibly blessed to have such a strong network of people who care. Please share this campaign, send love, and consider donating if you are able. Together, we can help my brother get the mobility aids he needs to live a full and independent life again.
With heartfelt thanks,
Sarah

23 days agoA little update from Keith. Thank everyone who has donated, I'm truly thankful and overwhelmed. I'm still progressing, getting stronger each day. My wounds are still healing nicely and are healthy. Managed a little walk today to kitchen to have hair wash lol and back to armchair using crutches. I truly am and always will be thankful to everyone's love and support and for my second chance. Please share this if you have 2 mins. Love Keith x
