I've raised £2500 to North Norfolk Vikings Swimming Club and Norfolk Rivers Trust

NNVSC - The club started in the late 1970s and has taught many North Norfolk Children to swim and helped many go on to achieve their goals of representing the county, region and nationally. As a small club, we turn out many top performing swimmers but also provide a place for youngsters to escape sometimes hard home lives and the pressures of school. Its Learn2Swim programme focuses on teaching essential water safety skills and sets the foundations for enjoyment in sport throughout life. Its adult lessons provide older and weaker swimmers with the skills to be able to enjoy water sports in later life and enjoy the water with children and grandchildren.
Covid hit the club hard because the restrictions meant that when we could return to the water we had to have twice as much pool time and space to be able to swim in a safe and secure manner. This has meant increased costs which many of our swimmers cannot afford owing to personal circumstances being affected by the pandemic. The money raised will go towards securing pool expenses for the year and therefore not having to put up the fees making swimming less attainable for many across North Norfolk, creating a generation of non or weak swimmers who have very limited water safety skills. It would also mean that those top swimmers who aspire to represent the county, region or even nationally would be able to continue training and realise those dreams.
Norfolk Rivers Trust - Norfolk Rivers Trust was established in 2011, with a vision to ensure that the quality of water provides the best habitat to benefit people and wildlife. With its commitment to the outstanding location in which Beeston children learn, Beeston Hall School has the NRT as its nominated charity this year, to support its mission to restore, protect and enhance the water environments of Norfolk.
