Story
The Sandy Muir Foundation has been established to specifically support young female golfers. The Foundation has been set up in the name of Sandy Muir, who was an inspirational woman and keen golfer. Sandy strived to encourage and support young female players at her home club in Dunblane. Unfortunately, Sandy’s life ended all too soon with breast cancer but her desire to support young golfers, male and female has been continued by her son Ian Muir, PGA Professional.
Both Ian and his wife Jackie share a genuine love of sport and a true desire to support young people in maximising opportunity and accelerating their potential.
The Sandy Muir Foundation will aim to compliment support provided by the national governing body, supporting girls who are at a stage on the Performance Development pathway where their golfing talent is beginning to shine. This will be evidence by not only their technical ability but their commitment to practice, aptitude and attitude and work ethic and who demonstrate true grit and determination to reach their potential.
