I've raised £350 to Fundraising for The Harmony Centre, Bridport

Having have always worked in the field of ‘Well Being’ I fully understand how we have all struggled to some extent with our mental health and well-being during the pandemic. I moved to Bridport in April (2021) and stumbled across the inspiring charity 'Harmony Centre' in Bridport https://www.harmonydropin.org.uk/ The centre offer a dedicated and much needed service to the local people with issues around their mental health. The service has limited resources and does an amazing job. I met some of the team who struck me as a hugely gifted and dedicated team providing a place of respite, safety, solace and an open door to those who need. I knew I wanted to help in some way, so
"What better way to offer something by challenging myself and stepping outside of my own comfort zone" I have never been a sea swimmer, so thought that swimming throughout the winter would be a wonderful way of challenging myself. I joined a local group of more experienced swimmers and started acclimatising myself in preparation for the endeavour I had in mind! I then made the decision to commit to swim in the open sea throughout the winter period. As I have been preparing I am amazed at how good it feels, despite going against every natural instinct I have (to stay on the beach and keep warm) … I focus, brave the plunge and can honestly say that so far I have never regretted it…so, I dry myself with an amazing buzz, a proud glow of achievement as I head home for my hot chocolate and warm slippers!
So, if you would feel like donating to a great charity then please contribute to encourage me throughout the winter months! …no amount is too small! I am doing my challenge between November 1st and February 1st where I commit to 15- 20 winter swims. Thank you so very much :-) Sandra https://therapyservices.info/
