Story

My brothers, father and I will be taking part - Scratch that - just Finished the Marathon des Sables, known indisputably as ‘the toughest footrace on Earth’: a 250 km, 7 day, self-sufficient race in the Moroccan desert. In order to achieve this challenge, it takes the dedication, resilience, patience, positive attitude & mental strength that we have been working on for a good part the past year

These are qualities that are embodied by Audrey, our good friend that was diagnosed with a rare form of brain cancer in 2020. Her fight against cancer in the last 2 years, before her tragic passing in February 2022, was a true testament of the qualities mentioned above: dedication, resilience, patience, positive attitude & mental strength, needed to achieve the MDS. She has been a continuous inspiration for us during our training & preparation, and we are therefore dedicating our run to her, her family, and brain cancer research.

We are asking for your help, to donate to our cause & help others in need. All donations to our page will go towards research dedicated to finding new ways to treat rare forms of brain cancer in young adults. Audrey’s family have already gathered almost 40,000€ for this cause, and by running the MDS we hope to get it to at least 50,000€ (as a reference point, the cost of one year of research in the field is around 80,000€ - still a long way to go!)

If you would like to donate, know that we as a family, along with Audrey’s husband & three kids, will be grateful for your help. Please leave your name when donating so we can thank you personally :)
