Hi, I’m Sam, I'm 17 year old student and a keen swimmer and I want to raise money for the British Heart Foundation. For my Challenge I am going to put on my trainers (instead of my usual swim hat and goggles) and attempt to run a marathon.

Why : Recently, my Dad suffered a heart attack which required immediate surgery, fortunately, he was able to receive the treatment he needed before it was too late. The surgery was successful, and my family and I are extremely thankful , however the heart attack has left everlasting damage both physically and mentally. The whole experience was both scary and stressful and as a token of appreciation, I want to fund raise for the British Heart Foundation. Initially I was going to run a marathon on my own but my brother also wanted to help and then when I mentioned what I wanted to do and why, my swimming club expressed that they would also like to help, which is how this fundraising event developed.

What:2 x individual marathons plus a relay marathon

How: Ben and I are going to run individual marathons, whilst we are running our individual marathons, my swim team members from Satellites Swimming Club will run a relay to complete as many marathons as they can as a team.

Where: Macclesfield Athletics Track. Ben and I will be required to complete 105.5 laps of the track each, whilst my teammates will just continually run around in circles and at the end, we will work out how many marathons they have completed between them.

When : 4th September 2022 @ 8.30am

Please support us, any donations, however big or small, will be massively appreciated and will allow other people to receive the same great help as my Dad.

Donations will be split 90% to the British Heart Foundation and 10% to Satellites Swimming Club ( in appreciation of their support and help)

This event will be livestreamed and continual updates will be posted on the swimming club instagram and facebook accounts but feel free to come on down to the athletics track, see us in action and cheer us on.
