Story
My name is Seryazi Samauni. I was born in Uganda in 1980 and lived most of my life in Tanzania. I am a father and the son of a hardworking man who like many other people in my community wasn’t able to pay for his children’s education. I worked part-time jobs, missed years of learning but never gave up on school. I finally managed to get my degree in Education in December 2016. Struggles I went through only made me thirstier for learning. Over those years, I built up a dream in which I would change my own life and the lives of my people for the better, and I’d do that through education. I felt a step closer to my dream when I recently found out that I am accepted for a Master’s degree in History in the University of Nairobi. This is my chance for a different life; to find my way into to the world of education, become a teacher, support my family and help my community to build its future by learning from the past.
I have so much faith in this path and I will make it happen, no matter what. I’m hoping you can help me to make my dream come through without the financial struggles I have experienced all my life. I’m hoping that you support me on this way with your generosity. The costs over 2 years including the tuition fee, transport, field work, food and accommodation is approximately 5757.800 USD (five thousand seven hundred and seven dollars).
My family, my community and I are deeply grateful to your contribution to our future.
