Story

Become part of a truly unique, elite cycling team – and share in our success.

Saint Piran is Cornwall's first elite cycling team. We're aiming for Pro Continental status within five years: an accreditation that will show off the Saint Piran brand to the millions who follow the world's biggest professional cycle races.

But this is a team with a difference. Because Saint Piran is the first and only elite cycling squad to include a community and charitable element; nurturing a youthful love of sport, dedicated to developing grassroots cycling and creating the champions of tomorrow.

As we gear up to race against the best professional squads in the UK and abroad, we'd love the British public to participate. So come and share in our success: your support will enable us to make a major difference on the global stage, and help push cycling at home to new levels of excellence

To mentor young team riders and help develop grassroots cycling in Cornwall, Saint Piran will always retain a core of experienced professionals from across the UK- the team already has some exceptional names in this department!

Contracts have been agreed with cyclists from the country's biggest pro teams: JLT Condor, ONE Pro Cycling, Madison Genesis and Raleigh GAK. Joe Evans, Sam Williams, Fraser Martin and Cameron Jeffers, all non-Cornish riders, have signed for Saint Piran. Ian Wilkinson, another one of the UK's all-time most decorated pros, joins the team as a Director Sportive and strengthens the team's nationwide reach.

By reaching out to the regions, we're better able to nurture, inspire and motivate the young guns at home. It's helped us become the first, and so far the only, cycling team committed to working for the community in this way. We've partnered established local charities, and we'll be donating a percentage of the corporate sponsorship we raise to turn the potential into excellence.

Sponsorship funding will ease our progress along this path. Historically, this is a region in which opportunity has been hindered by geography and funding. As you become an ‘owner' of Cornwall’s first pro cycling team, your kind donation will be crucial.

With your help, we're primed for international competition

The Saint Piran team is formidable; a well-drilled collective, battle-ready for the coming season and supremacy at the highest level. In 2018 we'll take on the best in single-day British 'monuments', such as the UCI Rutland-Melton Classic and the UCI Beaumont Trophy. The National Road Race will see Saint Piran pitted against many of elite sport's most revered names. These races are broadcast live on Eurosport to hundreds of thousands of fans. At roadside they are watched by many thousands more.

In due course, given sufficient funding, the world stage will showcase Saint Piran's riders. These events are watched across the globe by millions; few will miss the distinctive Saint Piran branding – for Cornwall and for Great Britain – displayed proudly on our backs.

So,

In the anticipation and hope that you will support Cornwall’s first pro cycling team as we move for international status, Saint Piran is appealing to the sporting spirit of Britain. Talented riders from throughout the UK will achieve their dreams. Youngsters will be introduced to the life-enhancing benefits of sport. And Saint Piran will make the whole country proud as we do battle against the best, in front of thousands.

This is a truly special opportunity to get behind British sport's biggest initiative in years – for cycling, and for the broader community. Your support is hugely appreciated.

A massive thank you from us all here at Saint Piran! :)
