Story

The engineers I worked with in Gaziantep and northern Syria are incredible.

They made search and rescue equipment for the White Helmets, repaired medical devices in more than 80 health facilities and have developed shelter winterisation technologies using recycled plastic. This photo is taken from Reuters TV shows one of the heavy lift airbags they made in Syria (to British standards, using materials found at truck repair stops) being used to rescue a child from a collapsed building in Azaz.

They now urgently need support to respond to the massive earthquakes of 6th Feb 2023 that have devastated their region. I am supporting their organisation Sahaya Hazir, a Turkish-registered charity - see Sahaya Hazir website - (this translates to Field Ready in Turkish!).

Keep track of their progress on Facebook - Sahaya Hazir, on LinkedIn - Field Ready Turkiye and on Instagram - Sahaya Hazir. Or reach out to me on the JustGiving form below if you have any questions!
