As the new stand construction moves into the final phase, we are delighted with the response of supporters. We can’t wait to see it occupied by our loyal fans at the first home game of the season against Buxton on Saturday 17th August.

Considering our final contribution of £46k and donations totalling £30k, a balance of £16k has to be met by the club. Obviously this will affect other budgets over the season including the playing budget.

We are therefore keeping the stand funding campaign open with a target of a further £16k. This campaign will run over the full course of the 2019-20 season and will include an online crowd funding campaign as well as fund raising events throughout the season.

Supporter donations made to date total just over £22k. We also received a very generous £8k community donation from One Stop to cover the cost of seating. The final project cost will be around £298k of which we received £252k from the FSIF, Flamingo Land naming rights and the Supporters Club. The club’s contribution of £46k towards the cost of the project included a contingency of £20k which club was liable for.

The use of the contingency covered some work on design changes and unforeseen ground works costs. These include the exploration of existing pipework/services, the addition of hand rails, using metal guttering rather than plastic, the redesign of the seated stand with the addition of rear staircases to satisfy egress walkways and forward planning by adding the supply of water and electrical services ready for phase two.
