Story

Grace and Sadie have decided to take on the big challenge of climbing Mt Snowdon in Wales, to raise funds for issues they care about. Snowdon is the UK's second tallest mountain so for little legs this is quite an undertaking. We have been busy training over the past few months to make sure we are prepared for our big day out to raise funds for our chosen charities.

Grace wants to raise funds to donate to her local food bank. During the pandemic she learnt that there were families that live in her town that can't afford to put a meal on the table. Grace wants to make a difference in her community and help the local food bank support those that need it. ( see Graces story below )

Sadie wants to raise funds for Mind UK . She wants to make sure that there is help available to those suffering from mental health problems, having experienced her dads struggle she doesn't want others to suffer. She wants to help ensure there is support for other families who maybe being effected by mental health issues.

Their mums will be the backpack carriers, the snack providers and the encouragement, as the girls challenge themselves and us to a day of team work, positive "can do" thoughts, peak summits , friendship and adventure and keeping ours and their focus on the prize for doing good in our crazy world and raising funds for great causes.

GRACE'S STORY:

During lockdown I spent a long time with Mummy thinking how lucky I am to live in a lovley house with a garden and the ability to eat three proper meals a everyday. We baked a lot and made yummy cakes and biscuits and we even made bread and soup. Mummy talked to me about the work of the food bank and how it helps people who live in our community . I never really thought that people living so close to us may not be able to eat or have enough money to feed there family. I wanted to do something about it so we came up with the idea of climbing Snowdon to raise money for the Redhill food Bank.

SADIE'S STORY

Two years ago my Dad got very sad, so sad he could'nt fly the kite with me and he stopped reading to me at bedtime . I didn't know you could get this sad and it made me worried and made life at home really difficult. I learn't that this was called depression and that Dad needed someone to help him. The people that helped him made him better and I am very grateful, so want to raise money to help other Dad's who might get sad. So i will be climbing Mt Snowdon to raise money for Mind U.K supporting mental health
