Story
Ryan was a senior Neuro radiographer at the Royal Sussex Country Hospital in Brighton where he worked in the Interventional Neuro Radiology (INR) Department.
He was very passionate about his job, especially the Neuro component of it.
We are asking for donations in order to purchase a fluid/blanket warmer for the department which covers the South East from London, Southampton, Hastings etc.
The INR department provides live saving treatment for ischemic stroke and subarachnoid brain haemorrhage. The patient at the receiving end of these treatments are critically ill, Ryan has helped to save or improve many lives.
The INR department is always trying to find new ways to improve patient care, Ryan would often discuss new ideas to try to achieve this. He always wanted more and better for his patients.
A fluid/blanket warmer would support the department in meeting gold standards for fluids (37%C body temperature). It would also bring comfort to confused and vulnerable patients and support a better recovery from general anaesthetic.
INR also provides care for Neuro surgical patients in a range of ways. For example by embolishing brain or spinal tumours to shorten surgery time and minimize blood loss.

5 years agoFirstly, we would like to say a huge thank you to everyone that has donated to Ryan's 'Just Giving' page. Your donations have meant that we've been able to fulfill Ryan's wishes. Initially we purchased a ‘great’ coffee machine for the Interventional Radiology Department, we were then able to deliver 118 specially designed Hoodies to all the Radiographers.

5 years agoThe workstation was next to be installed and finally after some ‘red tape’ issues the Blanket/Fluid Warming Cabinet was also delivered to the department. We would like to say a final thank you to all our family, friends and Ryan's work colleagues with all the love and support we've received since our Ryan was tragically taken from us. We miss him every single day, his passing has left a huge void in our family.

5 years agoHi all, a further update for you. Last Thursday on Ryan's 26th Birthday, we delivered Hoodies to the Hospital for his colleagues, something that Ryan had mentioned on several occasions They said " It's like Ryan is giving us a hug" whenever we put them on. It was lovely to meet up with some of Ryan's colleagues again, over a lovely coffee. The workstation has also arrived, it has the right specification that can be used for 'reporting on' and also for training purposes. Delivery of the fluid and blanket warming cabinet should be imminent.

I didn’t know Ryan at all, but learnt about this sad event via Ciara. His passing has touched my heart and I would like to make a contribution to such a worthy cause.
