Story

Nuwan has been diagnosed with an arterio venous malformation in the left posterior basal ganglia region of his brain.

The gamma knife radio surgery treatment needed cannot be performed in Sri Lanka and therefore he needs to be flown to India to have this lifesaving operation if he is to have a chance at life.

Up until this, he was an ambitious 26 year old who had recently gotten married, and now he is in a vegetative state. Without this he will die in a couple of months.

A total of LKR 2 million (approx. £10,250) is required for the operation, of which the family have managed to raise LKR 800,000 (approx. £4100) has already been raised. The money raised will be used for covering travelling and medical bills to India.

Nuwan situation remains unchanged, but on a positive note colleagues in Sri Lanka have managed to raise approx. £1000 over the last couple of weeks. I'm therefore dropping the amount that we are looking to raise. Keep spreading the word and remember every penny counts!

This is my first time crowd funding and in fairness I have always been really hesitant to ask people for donations. Having said that I was a little disappointed with the collections so far up until lunch time today when we went from £40 to £120. Whoop whoop!!! There's still a mammoth effort ahead, so keep sharing this and spreading the word. Every penny counts.

Nuwans condition has stabilised and his doctor feels that the surgery will giving him a fighting chance. The family are now desperately trying to spread the word and raise the funds needed. A local.minister who had promised some cash is now unavailable to meet them so the family is notably stressed. Please give generously as every penny will go towards Nuwans lifesaving operation
