Story

In May 2019 Will and James will be taking on their biggest physical and mental challenge so far of running 1000 miles, self supported, from John o Groats to Lands End to raise £10,000 for Ickle Pickles and our friend Damien.

Ickle Pickles is an amazing charity that was there in a time of need for James sister in 2016 when her twins, Phoebe and Isabelle were born at just 29 weeks. Phoebe weighed only 1lb 4oz and Isabelle 2lb 5oz. 90,000 babies are born premature every year and Ickle Pickles turn generous donations into specialist equipment for the intensive care units that treat these babies and keep them alive. Phoebe spent 54 days in NICU and Isabelle 48 days. They are now 2 and a half years old, fit and well that’s to the support from Ickle Pickles.

In June 2017, Will travelled to the French Alps with his best friend Damien to ride the mountain trails on their bikes. On June 13th, during their trip, Damien had a serious accident after falling on one of the trails which left him paralysed from the neck down. Money raised from this challenge will ensure that Damien receives the extensive physio therapy and has access to specialist equipment to help with his recovery. He’s currently in 24/7 care with the goal that with the right support, he can work towards living more independent life..

Our journey begins on the 9th May and we hope to complete the challenge within 50 days. You’ll be able to follow our progress via our website and on social media.

Thank you
