🤍 Miles of Love: Running to Remember Our Babies

This October 2025, during Baby Loss Awareness Month, we’re turning grief into action.

We set the challenge of inviting 31 people to walk or run throughout the month — each step marking one of the 31 days of remembrance — to raise awareness of baby loss and vital funds so Branch Baby Loss Network CIC can continue to support bereaved parents.

Branch is a nonprofit born from heartbreak, founded after the loss of baby Louis. We exist to smash the silence and isolation of pregnancy loss, baby loss, and infertility — because no one should have to grieve alone.

Every mile walked, every step taken, honours a baby gone too soon and supports families navigating the most devastating moments of their lives.

💔 Why It Matters

- 1 in 4 pregnancies ends in loss.

- Every day in the UK, 300 families experience miscarriage, 8 babies are stillborn, and 5 die within their first 28 days of life.

- More than 70% of parents affected struggle with their mental health, and 1 in 4 don’t return to work after loss.

Yet despite how common and devastating it is, support is scarce. That’s why Branch was created.

Since launching in June 2024, Branch has already been a lifeline for thousands of bereaved parents, and has been recommended by university researchers and midwives UK wide. We offer:

- A growing WhatsApp community of 50+ peer support groups, tailored by location, type, and stage of loss (from recurrent loss to parenting after loss).

- Online and in-person meet-ups across the UK to provide safe, supportive spaces that break the isolation.

- Wellness events, resources, and spaces to connect, heal, and find hope.

All of this is free, accessible, and run by a small but mighty team of volunteers who know just how much it matters.

But to keep it going — and reach even more families who desperately need support — we need your help.

🏃 The Challenge

Throughout October, we‘ve invited 31+ runners and walkers to take on their own distance, at their own pace. Each participant represents a day of Baby Loss Awareness Month, helping turn grief into visibility, and silence into solidarity.

By joining us or donating, you’re not just supporting a fundraiser — you’re helping ensure bereaved parents have somewhere to turn, day or night, in their darkest moments.
