Story
We are a team of six firefighters and officers from Devon & Somerset Fire & Rescue Service. In a wish to do a charity event aimed at the tragic events of Grenfell Tower, we decided to run from our headquarters in Exeter to North Kensington Fire Station, the first attending appliance to the scene.
The distance covered will be approximately 200 miles on a 5 mile relay, with the start commencing on Friday 14th of July at 0900 aiming to reach Kensington around 2000 on Saturday for the start of their watch.
On arrival we will present Red Watch with a plaque as a mark of respect from our service to London Fire Brigade.
The Fire Brigades Union have established a fund to support the firefighters and their families in the months and years following the incident.
Following incidents of this nature the psychological effects can be devastating, debilitating and long lasting.

8 years agoWith the last few days before we commence, thank you for all your kind donations. T-shirts have now been designed and ordered. There will be an option to purchase the t-shirt online with a couple of pounds for each one going to the fund. Design to follow soon.
