Story
Anna, Rosie and Helen are running novices and despite that have (heroically) pledged to run the Edinburgh half Marathon! The run is over 13 miles and will take them from Holyrood Park beyond Musselburgh on 28th May 2017. Hoping for a dry day!
They are running for a charity called FCIC which helps children affected by facial deformities in Cambodia. Read more below.
*** #runforFCIC is our official hashtag on twitter & instagram! ***

8 years agoAs it is a week to go before the race, we wanted to tell you more about FCICambodia. has been set up to support the development of the non surgical care of children born with clefts of the lip and or palate in Cambodia. It provides both training for local staff and treatment. Working in collaboration with other partners it provides feeding advice and support to the families of new born children at its clinic in the national Paediatric Hospital. Where additionally each baby undergo medical screening to exclude any other health conditions.

8 years agoWant to know what training has been like for Rosie? She's written a blog about her exploits along the way so far - 4 weeks to go till the run! http://www.illustrationetc.co.uk/blog/5-doing-things-by-halves Yesterday she teamed up with some pals and ran 10 miles from Kilpatrick to Loch Lomond. Exhausting but worth it! So close to the 13 miles now! There's still time to support us, so please share our journey and help us help children in Cambodia suffering deformities. It's a good cause!

8 years agoWith less than 8 weeks to go, we're all pushing ourselves to ensure we can (semi respectably) finish this May half marathon! We're all new to running, so it's a tough challenge. Last week, Anna and Rosie both ran 10km (6 miles), almost reaching a halfway distance. YASS! What keeps us going is that everything you donate will go towards improving lives for children affected by clefts in Cambodia. It's debilitating to be affected by facial deformity, but the work FCIC does changes lives. Thanks to all donators so far! x
