Rumuruti Mosque was originally built in the 1920s, to serve the needs of the town's Muslims. Over time, it has fallen into disrepair and desperately needs to be rebuilt to provide a proper place of worship for the Muslim community. At the moment the ablution and toilet facilities are rudimentary, the floors and interior walls are broken, and the roof is completely rusted. The project has been fully costed by the charity Al Khair Foundation, who have visited the site and drawn up plans for the redevelopment. The plans and costings are available to view upon request. The ultimate aim is to rebuild the mosque and adjoining 3 shops. The rental income from these shops will be used to pay for the running and maintenance costs of the new Masjid.

The project will cost approximately £100,000. The local community has already pledged some funds, with Al Khair willing to finance some aspects of the development. We are aiming to raise £5000 to put towards this noble effort. Any help towards this would be greatly appreciated.

ALLAH IS AWARE OF THE GOOD THAT YOU DO "They ask you (O Muhammad) what they should spend in charity. Say: 'Whatever you spend with a good heart, give it to parents, relatives, orphans, the helpless, and travellers in need. Whatever good you do, Allah is aware of it.'" - The Holy Quran, 2:215

Surah Al-Hadid Ayat 18: The men and women who give sadaqa and make a good loan to Allah will have it increased for them and they will have a generous reward.

Allah says in Surat Al Imran: "Never will you attain the good (reward) until you spend (in the way of Allah) from that which you love. And what you spend - indeed Allah is knowing of it."
