Story
The Holy Royal Arch sign has been a major landmark in the town since the 18th century.
The carved curiosity was made in France over 300 years ago, and was erected above The Royal Arch Bar in Montose High Street by the captain's of French sailing ships who used the then coffee house as a meeting place.
This iconic piece of local history is once again in dire need of repair, and is currently being restored but needs vital financial support to continue the restoration.
You will understand that this is a very delicate artifact that requires expert care and attention to bring it back to its former glory.
The Royal Arch Bar are endeavoring to raise funds to assist its restoration and finally have it back where it rightly belongs.
The restoration costs are quite substantial, so we have started this crowd fund in the hope that lovers of preservation of local history may be kind enough to lend support.
The Royal Arch Bar management offer sincere gratitude to all who support this endeavor.
