Story

I am a reserve soldier with 'B' Squadron, Royal Wessex Yeomanry, based in Salisbury. On 13th May 2018, I'll be running the Bristol 10K marathon in support of the Royal Wessex Yeomanry Association.

The association is a charity that provides support to serving personnel and their dependents should they fall on hardship or distress, whether that be at the conclusion of deployments or attempting to fulfill their obligations as a reservist.

Furthermore, the association helps look after past members of the regiment, which was first raised in 1974. But the units that now make it up have been established since before the First World War. 'B' Squadron, was first raised in 1794 as the Royal Wiltshire Yeomanry!

We all know how important veterans of the Armed Forces are, they've devoted their lives to the protection of the country and it's our responsibility to help look after them.
