Story
In memory of my Brother Jamie Griggs I'm fighting in a charity boxing event in Southend-on-Sea on 17th June - at the Grosvenor Casino.
I'm looking to raise as much money as I can to help a charity that is close to our family's heart - CLIC Sergant (Cancer and Leukaemia in Childhood).
This wonderful charity provides support to children and young adults under 24 living with cancer and also provides support to their families.
Jamie was a very bright and talented young man who knew what he wanted in life and how to get it. Jamie was studying a PhD in Neuroscience at Nottingham University and he fell ill in November 2009. Within two days of visiting his doctor he was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia, and after a brave nine month fight he lost his life.
Jamie was in hospital 160 miles away from our home.
CLIC Sargent provided us with a large family room in one of their "Homes from Home" houses that give families a place to stay close to hospitals. This eased our mounting financial costs while caring for Jamie many miles from where we were living.
I just want to give as much as I can to support CLIC Sargent with their continued efforts; and I hope that you will support me in trying to achieve this - however big or small the donation.
