Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page!

This year, we have set ourselves an ambitious goal, to ride 1000 miles within 24 hours as part of Scotland's 'Numb Bum Challenge'; an annual motorcycle ride that will begin in Biggar in the Scottish Borders on the 4th May, taking the North Coast 500 route to John o' Groats and ending back at the starting point in Biggar within the same 24 hour period, a route just shy of a 1000 miles that will almost certainly result in a pair of numb bums!

We will both be riding our own bikes in convoy and have put together an approximate plan (with distances and timings) as follows which brings us to the end point with only 25 minutes to spare!

We have included a map of the route so you can check out where we will be visiting. We will be stopping (only briefly!) at a number of locations and uploading photos of ourselves at key landmarks along the way.

Why are we doing this? We wanted not only to get out on our bikes more, set ourselves a challenge and take in some of Scotland's best scenery, but also to take the opportunity to raise as much as we can for the motorcycle based charity, Blood Bikes Scotland.

Blood Bikes Scotland provide an essential, free of charge transport service to the Scottish NHS run by volunteers in their own time #itswhatwedo. They support teams in both primary and secondary care including GPs, district nurses, care homes, hospices and community hospitals covering sites across NHS Lothian and NHS Borders. They are always in need of funding to provide this critical service.

We would be so grateful if you are able to help Blood Bikes Scotland by donating to this worthy cause. Here's an idea of what your donation could provide them:

£15 provides a tank of fuel for one of their motorcycles.

£35 provides a week of electricity for their electric scooter.

£100 buys one new tyre for their motorcycles.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Thank you so much!
