Roseanne Joni Tait was born asleep on 27th June 2016.

A perfect little cherub with big feet and a button nose.

We had just one day with out beautiful girl before she had to leave us, however we made memories that day to last us a lifetime.

We later went on to find out that Roseanne had died because of a problem with the placenta and that she was perfectly healthy. We were also saddened to find out that in the UK 15 babies a day are stillborn or die shortly after birth. Worse still, 60% of these are avoidable, as was Roseanne's.

This year for her first birthday very kindly many people have asked what they can do to remember and honour Roseanne.

We have spent the year working to improve the care of parents following a bereavement. With the support of others we've raised over £5000 to directly support the work of charities like Sands, Tommy's, Remember My Baby, Teardrop and 4Louis.

Specifically for Roseanne's birthday we'd like to do something more personal. We're stocking up the bereavement suite, the "Willow Room" at NSECH in Cramlington. Immediate family and friends have helped us to purchase storybooks to help explain the death of a baby to young siblings and self help books for adults dealing with pregnancy and baby loss.

On top of this we'd also like to be able to provide 10 "Heart in their Hand" keyrings for bereaved families. The beautiful pieces create a lasting physical link to you baby. A heart shape is stamped out of a keyring, you place the heart with your baby and you keep the keyring. We will order them and on the back it will state that these were donated in memory of Roseanne. In the early days particularly it was helpful to know that other people had experienced the same type of loss and made it through to make positive changes for others. We weren't alone.
