Story

In memory of my Dad who lost his battle to Cancer 4 years ago, I have agreed to complete a skydive for the Dave Wellman Cancer Trust.

Over the past 4 years my family and friends have been instrumental in staying positive and keeping going through such a difficult time.

Although the decision was not an easy one, Tina who started the Dave Wellman Cancer Trust has spent the last 18 years helping to educate and raise awareness of Cancer with her fundraising, helping the breakthroughs that have been made here in Southampton.

Watching someone suffer first hand with this horrible disease is reason enough for me to do my bit in fundraising for such an amazing charity and I hope I would make my Dad proud by completing it.

If you could spare any money to donate I would really appreciate it.

Thank you, Rose Appleton

More Information of the Charity you would be donating to:

Tina (who herself is completing a skydive) has forged good relationships with the research team and this spurs her on to help in any way she can. Tina has been privileged to have seen the progress and how only a few years ago chemotherapy and radiotherapy were the only options. There has been massive progress with the new drugs available and we now the Cancer Immunology Centre, of which she is an Ambassador opens in March.

This Centre will change the future of cancer science as far as immunology goes, and working with one’s own immune system to eradicate this horrendous disease is quite honestly amazing. For many of us, living on the doorstep of what will be a Centre of the Future in Cancer research, will enable cancer sufferers the most advanced treatment and the next stage in cancer treatment. The contribution the Dave Wellman Cancer trust has made, with the help of many supporters, has impacted on the public greatly. Not only helping locally and nationally, but making a difference internationally, as they have played a huge part in the research in one of the leading Cancer Centre's of Excellence, in the World.

The Dave Wellman Cancer Trust were recently told that they are a platinum donor and are the 5th biggest donor to the £25 Million campaign.
