Rodrigo (this is the pseudonym we have chosen not to reveal his identity) is a smart young Cuban man in his late twenties.

He is university-educated, a skilled hard-worker, intellectually curious, highly cultured, and speaks three languages fluently, but he does not feel that his government gives him an opportunity to nurture his qualities. Nor does he feel he will be able to support is family, composed by a wife, two children under the age of 10, as well as his parents.

Unfortunately, the Cuban average salary of £28/month is not enough to survive, especially considering that the monthly rationing only lasts for 1 week and that the basic commodities (soap, tampons, pans, pens...) as well as fruits and vegetables all bare European prices.

It is for these reasons that he would like to come to Europe and start a new life that will allow him to guarantee a more stable economic position to his family, in hope that they will be able to join him soon. This money will be sufficient to pay for his passport and his flight.
