Story

Charlie is the UK's leading framerunner and is world-class! Unfortunately, her event is not yet on the Paralympic programme (although much is hoped for by Los Angeles in 2028) and the consequence of this is that she is not yet funded by her national governing body, UK Athletics.

Charlie was born with cerebral palsy which in her case affects her balance. She needs the use of a wheelchair and a walking frame for day-to-day use but once she is supported in her running frame she excels and has set national records and rankings in all distances from 100m to 1500m.

To establish herself on the world stage she needs to seek out high level competition throughout the UK and Abroad. This is expensive in terms of; entry fees, travel, accommodation, transport and maintenance of her running frame and, of course, she needs a carer to travel with her. Para-athletes encounter costs over and above their able-bodied counterparts and need greater support.
