We're raising £5,000 to support the River Teign Sea Scouts (RTSS).

RTSS is an incredible Scouting group, run entirely by volunteers - over 100 children from Teignmouth, Shaldon, and the surrounding area benefit from the healthy, wholesome activities that we provide on a weekly basis. Activities that support their development, education, and leadership skills.

One of the unique qualities of RTSS is the on-the-water activities we offer children every year. Many of whom would not get the opportunity to take part in sailing, kayaking, paddle boarding and other water-based skills development otherwise, despite living by the coast. The cost is often prohibitive for families, and access to training and equipment is both difficult to find, and expensive.

Our equipment desperately needs updating and our cohort of volunteer scout leaders require specific safety training, to ensure safety and skills-development for all involved. This year we need to fund £2,000 to replace the Vision sails, and £1,000 for kayak instructor training, and £2,000 to install sound baffling in our Scout Hut.

Our children can't safely undertake water-based sports and skills development without this funding, not can we provide a safe and calm environment for them to participate in indoor activities.

Any contribution you are able to provide would help and support our local children, and their development.
