Story
I am running to help Raise money in memory of someone I never had the pleasure of meeting. However, I do know his family and they are Amazing. As most of you know I work at a High School in Bolton and started the year as Head of Year 7 ( I will come back to this). Lukas Proud, when younger was diagnosed with a brain tumour when he was 2 years old and was supported along with his family, by the fabulous people of The Ronald McDonald House in Manchester. Since his passing his parents and siblings, our friends, Andrew, Katy, Violet and Reggie have continued to raise awareness and funds for the house. The house provides the opportunity for Families to spend time together in the hardest of times for them. The Railway room brought memories and time together for the Prouds. In a conversation with a parent of a year 7 pupil, we realised that we knew the Prouds as their child went to nursery with Lukas. This struck home with me, that if Lukas hadn't have become ill that he would possibly be a student in my year group now.
I was planning on running the Marathon for personal achievement but to do it to continue to raise awareness and money to help this wonderful charity has helped me keep running in the wind, rain and ice!! If you can, please spare some pennies to help this room continue to help Families like the Prouds.
Your support is much appreciated.
