Story

Calling all Rhino friends!!

This is a fundraising event for SAVE THE RHINO TRUST NAMIBIA, to help them protect the critically endangered, magnificent, desert-dwelling black rhinos of Damaraland.

Damaraland is a remote and rugged area of communal land in Namibia with no National Park status where SRT works tirelessly alongside local communities to patrol and protect the last surviving, free-roaming black rhino population on earth today. It is a very challenging time for conservation because budgets are hugely compromised due to cancelled fundraising events and a lack of tourism.

“We need funding for field rations and the running costs for vehicles since we need to step up more to make sure our rhinos are safe during this time.” SIMSON URI-KHOB, CEO of Save the Rhino Trust Namibia

Due to the Coronavirus pandemic we are hosting a weekend of online music, art and maybe even a socially distanced swim in Hastings!

I aim to raise as much money as possible with this event, to help the cause and to support these shy, nervous and beautiful rhinos so that they can continue to thrive and survive in their natural home.

Please help me to help the rhinos and SRT by donating to my JustGiving fundraiser. There will be lots more information about the amazing work of SRT and the wonderful rhinos they protect on the Rhino Solstice Party website. I will post this link to you very soon. Thank you all so much, I hope you can get involved and share the message to generate as much support as possible.
